DISCLOSURE STATEMENT REGARDING BUSINESS CONTINUITY
As part of our commitment to keep our clients informed, this disclosure serves to summarize our Business Continuity Plan (BCP). Securities regulations require us to address the possibility of disruptions to the function of our business, such as power outages, natural disasters, or other events.
Alternative plans have been developed to allow you to continue to contact Heritage Asset Advisors Ltd., LLP in the event of a disruption at our primary office. An alternate location has been designated where principals and essential employees of the firm can relocate. At that location we will have access to the specifics of your account and changes (trade entry) can be made, if necessary. Relocation and resumption of services should be available within 2 hours.
Measures and procedures have been undertaken to ensure that all critical documents can be recovered, thus minimizing the potential negative impact such a disruption would have on our ability to provide appropriate financial advice to you.
In the event of a public health crisis we will enact a workforce continuity plan. This includes focusing available personnel on critical business functions that directly support client needs, practicing social distancing to limit exposure, and notifying clients if there is any health impact related to key employees.
As Charles Schwab Institutional (our custodian) holds your accounts and your funds, we rely heavily on their support. This is of particular importance in the event of a disruption to more than just our primary offices (for example, a disruption of city wide or regional proportions). Schwab also maintains a BCP which enlists nationwide resources to provide for the continuation of client services. As always, you will have access to your account information and your funds directly through our custodian.
No BCP can address every possible disruptive situation and any specific response will be dependent upon the actual nature and extent of the incident. However, we believe that our plan in conjunction with the plan of our custodian will enable us to resume normal operations in a minimal amount of time. If you are unable to contact us during an emergency or significant business disruption, access to your accounts can be achieved by contacting Charles Schwab directly at www.schwab.com or via the numbers below:
